The second night of Pub Theology offered a fascinating and forward-looking conversation: “Thinking Machines? AI, Neurotechnology, and the Image of God,” featuring guest speaker The Rev. Dr. Christopher J. Benek.
As artificial intelligence and neurotechnology rapidly evolve, what does it mean to be human? How do these advancements challenge—or deepen—our understanding of being made in the image of God? Dr. Benek, an internationally recognized pastor, theologian, and thought leader at the intersection of faith and technology, guided us through these complex and compelling questions.
With insights featured in major global outlets such as The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, and more, Dr. Benek brought both academic depth and real-world experience to the conversation. He has advised companies, policymakers, and governments on the ethical and societal impact of AI, and currently serves as Pastor of First Miami Presbyterian Church and CEO of The CoCreators Network, an organization committed to the vision of Better People, Better Tech, Better World.
