The Letter to the Hebrews
Led by Dr. Elizabeth Lang, Dr. Brady Millican, and Barbara Kennard
How can you explain the significance of Christ to people in our culture who are not familiar with the time in which the New Testament was written? The Letter to the Hebrews offers a compelling case for the significance of Christ in our lives today. It uses sophisticated reasoning as well as powerful interpretations of Jewish scripture and worship to present the living grace of Christ, wherever we find ourselves now. Come explore this treasured text with us.

Imaging the Word Lectionary Bible Study
Meets on Wednesdays | 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. starting September 9, 2026 through May 19, 2027
The Bible and the arts are inherently and historically linked. Since the 4th century CE, congregations have been guided by the lectionary’s imaginative and disciplined journey through the Bible. Using these readings, the liturgy, music, colors, movements, and celebrations of the church year, the Bible and the arts are brought together in a significant way. Imaging the Word is a resource providing visual arts, music, photography, prose, poetry, prayers, and commentary based on each Sunday’s lectionary readings. The class is open to everyone anytime.
For questions, more information, and the Zoom link for those unable to attend in person please contact Karen Wiley at kkwiley@sbcglobal.net.

The Brown Bag Bible Study is for women who seek to grow in their faith and to do so in the community and support of others. Come discover forgiveness anew in our life and walk of faith. You’ll learn ow do we deal with the anger and resentment we feel when hurt by others and how to restore broken relationships. Zoom is also available for those unable to meet in person.

Lectio Divina
Meets on Thursdays, November 7 – December 19, 2024 | 2 – 3 p.m.
Take some time to get out of the hurried ways of life and the noise around us to draw close to God with others through Lectio Divina. It provides a time of meditation and quiet focusing upon a reading or even art, followed by discussion and growth with others. Lectio is not a Bible study or even an alternative to Bible study but something radically different. It understands Scripture as a meeting place for a personal encounter with the living God. All you need is a desire to be changed.

The Seekers
Meets on Wednesdays starting August 5, 2026 | 7 – 8 a.m.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, Secret Service agent Darin Kinder was near the base of the South Tower when it began to collapse. What followed was a harrowing fight for survival – one that revealed the true meaning of courage, sacrifice, and calling. “Bury Me in a Dirty Suit” is a gripping eyewitness account of 9/11 and a heartfelt exploration of what it means to live with a valiant purpose. With honesty and humility, Kinder recounts the chaos and trauma of that day, the resilience of the human spirit, and the sustaining power of faith in the darkest hour. Through this book, you’ll be invited to consider your own mission, your own “why,” and challenged to answer God’s call to step up and fight back against the darkness.
For questions, please contact Tim Smith, tsmith@saintmichael.org.
