Pledging to the 2026 Stewardship Campaign, Building the Kingdom, directly fuels the mission of Saint Michael as together, we strengthen our ministries, support outreach efforts, and build Christian disciples for a transformed community.
Your commitment makes a lasting difference in our church and the broader community we are called to serve.
From the Rector
Each of us is called by God to follow Jesus. Committing to a life of discipleship is transformative, yet making a true commitment and holding ourselves accountable is often harder than it seems. Discipleship growth happens when we boldly commit to God and courageously follow through.
At Saint Michael, we have identified four guiding pillars of discipleship: pray, learn, serve, and give. This year, we ask you to make clear commitments to give and serve. Gifts of money and time are central to the Christian life and go back to Jesus and the first discipleship communities.

Commitment grows discipleship from hope into action. Make a financial and service commitment that stretches you, yoking yourself to God’s kingdom-building work at Saint Michael. The path of discipleship will transform your heart and mind.
Be bold in commitments to our shared mission and ministry so we can expand God’s love together. God wants you—all of you—and where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Pledging to the 2026 Stewardship Campaign, Building the Kingdom, fuels the mission of Saint Michael as we strengthen ministries, support outreach, and build Christian disciples for a transformed community.
The Rev. Dr. Christopher D. Girata
Rector

“For our family, pledging is part of our discipleship. It’s a way to respond to God’s call with purpose, to invest in a church that challenges us, nurtures us, and walks with us in faith.”
Ryan Kneipper
2026 Stewardship Chair
Making the Commitment to Give
What is an annual pledge, and why does it matter?
An annual pledge is your commitment to support Saint Michael’s mission through a defined financial gift. It helps us live generously and plan faithfully for the ministry we’ll offer in the year ahead.
Is there a suggested pledge amount?
Giving is a personal expression of faith and discipleship. We encourage every household to make a pledge that reflects both gratitude for God’s blessings and a commitment to support the mission of Saint Michael. A thoughtful, intentional pledge deepens your participation in our shared mission and allows us to plan faithfully for the year ahead.
How much of our church’s annual budget is funded by pledges?
Nearly 90% of our operating budget is funded through annual pledges. Your commitment ensures we can sustain and grow the programs, people, and places that shape our spiritual life together.
What does my pledge support?
Your pledge supports every aspect of ministry at Saint Michael—from worship, music, and education, to pastoral care, outreach, and our dedicated clergy and staff. It keeps our sacred spaces thriving and our community growing in faith.
Why not just give as I go? Why should I make a pledge?
Pledging allows us to plan responsibly. Even if you prefer to give throughout the year at your own pace, submitting a pledge during the campaign helps our leadership build an accurate and faithful budget. It’s also a spiritual practice—a way to live intentionally and generously.
Does giving in the offering plate count as a pledge?
While plate offerings are appreciated, they do not replace a pledge. Pledging helps us build a sustainable budget, while plate offerings support special or one-time needs— especially for outreach ministries.
How do I make a pledge for 2026?
- Complete a physical pledge card
- Pledge online here
- Email the Advancement team at giving@saintmichael.org.
What if my financial situation changes?
If your circumstances shift, please know we’re here for you. Your pledge is a statement of intent, not a binding contract. If adjustments are needed, simply reach out. All conversations are held in confidence, and pastoral care is always available.
What are my options for paying my pledge?
You may fulfill your pledge weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually—whatever works best for you. Payments can be made by check, credit card, cash, appreciated stock, or tax-free IRA distribution (if you are 70½ or older). We ask that all 2026 pledges be fulfilled by December 31, 2026.

Commit to Serve
As disciples, Jesus calls us to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves, and that means committing to acts of service. We can serve others in many ways, both inside and outside our church community. When we serve one another, we strengthen the community and learn about love.
For the first time, we are asking you to make an explicit commitment of service, along with your annual pledge.
