Classes for Adults

Faith and Practice Series

Current Study: “The Life of Prayer”

Sundays, March 15 through March 29, 2026 @ 10 a.m.

Led by Clergy

The season of Lent is an excellent time to reflect on our practice and experience of prayer. This series will explore several different types of prayer and the ways each can lead us deeper into our relationship with God and with one another; we’ll review various forms of daily devotion, the use of scripture in prayer, praying in the midst of loss or tragedy, and other forms of prayer. We will also examine some of the challenges of prayer, such as how to find time for prayer in the midst of a busy life or how we should respond to unanswered prayers. The series will include reflection on biblical and historical resources, but the focus will be on helping us cultivate a more vibrant experience of prayer in daily life.

Bible Series

Current Study: “The Lost Letters of Pergamum”

Sundays, March 15 through March 29, 2026 @ 10 a.m.

Led by the Rev. Robin Hinkle

This series is based on Bruce Longenecker’s phenomenal work of historical fiction, The Lost Letters of Pergamum, a book that imagines a correspondence between Saint Luke and a member of the Roman elite. This book will add context to our faith by illuminating the Jewish historical context, the culture of Rome, and the early development of the Christian faith under the threat of persecution. And it is truly a great read!

Parent Series

Current Study: “Embracing Your Limitations as a Parent”

Sundays, March 22 through March 29, 2026 @ 10 a.m.

Led by Travis Gilmore

One of the fundamental pitfalls of parents today is to think they can do it all and seek to do it with perfection. And increasingly, they’re feeling exhausted. Author Oliver Burkeman calls for a different way to live—“imperfectionism”—which helps us tackle the challenges of our finite time, the lure of distraction, the impossibility of doing anything perfectly, and the feeling the world is spinning out of control. How can we embrace our limitations, or make good decisions when there’s always too much to do? Join us as Travis Gilmore shares practical tools and daily shifts in perspective, resulting in living more fully.

Saint Michael 101

Sundays, January 11 through May 17, 2026 @ 10 a.m.

Not only will this series introduce you to our many vibrant ministries, it will also provide you with an introduction to the Episcopal Church, our worship and the Book of Common Prayer, and other themes associated with Anglican faith and practice.
