The third installment of our Pub Theology series: “At Home in the Universe: Cosmology and the Search for Meaning,” was led by The Rev. Dr. Andrew Grosso, Senior Associate for Discipleship at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

From the vastness of galaxies to the mystery of our own existence, modern cosmology invites us to wrestle with profound questions: What does it mean to belong in such an expansive universe? Where is God in the story of creation as science continues to unfold its complexity? And how might these discoveries deepen—not diminish—our sense of meaning and purpose?

The Rev. Dr. Andrew Grosso guided us through an engaging exploration of the intersection between cosmology and faith, offering insight into how the study of the universe can enrich our theological imagination and our understanding of God’s presence in all things.

Pub Theology is a speaker and music series designed to engage the wider community in meaningful conversation. Each gathering offers theological, challenging, and thought-provoking discussion in a relaxed, welcoming pub environment—equally comfortable for parishioners, invited friends, and curious newcomers alike.

This year’s series dives into scientific and technological developments—from artificial intelligence to communications and beyond—considering how these advances invite deeper theological reflection and fresh insight into the life of faith.

Join us for the first of four Monday nights in June featuring engaging speakers, lively discussion, and yes—cold beer. Doors open at 6 p.m., the program begins at 7 p.m., and each evening includes time for Q&A.
