O Come All Ye Faithful (and Chorus): The History of Christmas Carols

Group: Faith and Practice Series

In Room 201

Led by Sammy Sweet and Jordan DeRouen

Sundays, November 29-December 20

Join us for a look at the stories behind some of our most beloved Christmas carols, led by Director of Music Samuel K. Sweet and Principal Organist Jordan DeRouen. Together they’ll trace how these familiar melodies took shape – from the World War I story behind “Silent Night” to the French origins of “Angels We Have Heard on High” – and what has made them endure at the heart of our celebration of Christmas. Grab a cup of hot chocolate and come learn why we sing what we sing.
