Yuqing He
Organ Scholar
Saint Michael is delighted to welcome Yuqing He, an accomplished organist and pianist who is studying at the University of North Texas, as our new Organ Scholar.
Originally from China, Yuqing is currently pursuing Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in both organ performance and piano performance at the University of North Texas, where she studies organ with Dr. Malcolm Matthews and piano with Dr. Liudmila Georgievskaya. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the China Conservatory of Music and her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Wyoming, and brings experience performing as both a pianist and organist in solo, collaborative, and liturgical settings, including leading congregational hymns, accompanying choirs, and providing music for worship services and special events.
Beyond her performing and church music experience, Yuqing serves as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas, where she teaches keyboard skills and secondary organ lessons and assists with studio scheduling. In addition to organ and piano, she has studied classical voice and also plays jazz piano, ukulele, and the guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument. Outside of music, Yuqing enjoys reading, drawing, running, learning French, and spending time outdoors.
