Role: Nursery Caregiver – Wednesday Childcare
Department: Children and Family Ministry
Reports To: Director of Children and Family Ministry (Director of Early Childhood Ministry once hired)
Work Hours: Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 2:30 – 8:30 p.m. | Weekly hours range from 6 – 8 hours
Start Date: September 2026
Compensation: $17/hour
WHOM WE SEEK:
Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church is seeking dedicated and caring individuals for our Wednesday Childcare program. Children will vary in age, from 3 months to 4 years and, on some occasions, up to 8 years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and welcome families as they drop off children for care
- Monitor check-in and check-out procedures, maintain attendance
- Engage children in constructive and educational play
- Change diapers, facilitate bathroom breaks, and feedings as necessary
- Organize snack time
- Clean and put away all materials used

- Receive a clear background check and complete all required Safe Church (abuse prevention) training
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Child safety (First aid and CPR certification are preferred, but not required)
- Ability to communicate directly with parents and understand a child’s feeding schedule and needs while in our care
- Ability to speak to children, explain, and instruct in an age-appropriate and caring way
