There was much to celebrate in the Men of Saint Michael in 2025, but here are a few key items:
- 170 men engaged in the MOSM ministry, a 15 percent increase
- Two new men’s groups started
- 762 men signed up to receive MOSM newsletter
- Mission trip to Kenya
The Men of Saint Michael connect men to Christ and to other men and empower them to take the next step spiritually. The group endeavors to create a culture of service to others, including their families, that brings them to Christ. Introductory events like our Men With Purpose speaker series, BBQ’s, cookouts and tailgates continue to grow and reach new men. The MOSM also engage younger men at SMAA with a new men’s small group for early life stage dads. MOSM has also created an initiative to provide spiritual guidance for younger men that has been incubated with 10 trained men committed to become mentors. Life transformation happens in circles, so a second men’s small group for retirees was created. Several of our existing men’s groups continue to grow, indicating an increasing curiosity and hunger for a more faithful life. Recognizing that many men suffer in silence, we began work to create peer-to-peer support for men who are experiencing difficult times. Mission work is also a focus for the MOSM with the goal of making a difference in the lives of others with the added benefit that connect “shoulder to shoulder” as they serve together. To broaden our mission offerings, an exploratory mission trip to the Ageno School in Kenya was held in June. MOSM’s contributions funded and helped build a wall around the school to protect the students. The MOSM seek to build on the momentum of all of these accomplishments to impact more men in 2026.
In the coming year, we will focus on engaging more men in our events and helping them to follow up with the next step in their journey, ultimately getting men connected in a small group and serving in mission. We will start at least one new men’s group in the Fall. In September, we will move our Men with Purpose Breakfast to our new Parish Hall, enabling us to lower the price and hopefully reach more men. We will also offer a second training for men who are willing to consider becoming mentors to younger men.
If you haven’t participated in a Men of Saint Michael event yet, we hope to see you soon in 2026!
On December 19th, the Men of Saint Michael gathered at the Saint Phillips’ School to set up for their annual Christ Store for the community which provides gifts and coats for children whose families might otherwise not be able to afford them. The men also gathered the following day to help break down the event. Many thanks to those who gave of their time.
