Paul’s letter to the Romans is a monumental testimony to the faith and practice of the early church. It has inspired Christians throughout the ages and has also elicited a number of theological questions and controversies. In this series, we will explore the various themes and images Paul uses to unfold his account of the gospel of Christ and will also look briefly at some paradigmatic examples from the history of the church of how others have engaged Paul’s work. What we discover in this class will enable us to grow both in understanding and in our lived experience of the fullness of grace Paul describes.
