March 2027 Holy Land Pilgrimage

March 11, 2027 - March 22, 2027

March 11 – 22, 2027

You and your family are invited to join our rector, Chris Girata, to spend 11 days following in the footsteps of Christ in the spring of 2027.

This pilgrimage, featuring visits to some of the most notable sites in the history of our faith, is not to be missed!

If you are interested in going on the Holy Land trip, please reach out to Bhav Masih at bmasih@saintmichael.org.

Registration Instruction Guide

This pilgrimage is an invitation to step into the story of our faith together. Over 11 days, we’ll journey through the Holy Land, standing in places we know from Scripture and taking time to slow down, reflect, and pray as those stories come to life. There is something uniquely powerful about seeing these places with your own eyes—about realizing that the Bible is rooted in real geography, real people, and real moments in history. For many, it becomes a deeply meaningful and formative experience that reshapes how they read Scripture long after returning home.

I’m very pleased that Sam Moore (Director of Youth Ministries) and Cydni Joubert (Asst. Director of Children and Family Ministries) are planning to join me on the trip. We are intentionally inviting families to be part of this pilgrimage. Throughout the trip, students and adults will have daily opportunities to reflect together on what we’re seeing and experiencing. Our hope is that this shared journey creates space for meaningful conversations, spiritual growth, and lasting memories—both within your family and within our church community.

The estimated price per person (everything for the trip except airfare to and from Tel Aviv) is currently $4,700 per person. This price is for double occupancy and an extra fee of $2,100 will apply to anyone desiring a single occupancy room. Trip participation is prioritized in the following order:

(1) Saint Michael members in good standing with children going on the trip,

(2) non-Saint Michael members with children going on the trip

(3) Saint Michael members in good standing without children going on the trip.

Although everyone should plan to register at the same time on March 2, we will allow 24 hours for registrations before confirming who makes it on the trip and who is on the waiting list. To register, we require a non-refundable deposit of $1000 for each person, with more details available on our website. Please note that deposits will be returned to anyone who does not make the trip (remains on the waiting list).

Note: If you choose to pay your deposit by check, you must remit payment to the church office by 4 p.m. on the same day you register in order to hold your place.

The Family Pilgrimage to the Holy Land was a wonderful trip for our family. Rooted in the footsteps of Christ, it grounded each of us in our Christianity as we saw, touched and understood better than ever before the most important moments in the New Testament.

For me personally, the trip has had even more of an impact now that I am home. My regular worship has come alive as I listen to the Gospel and know I have traveled on those same paths, been in those same caves, and witnessed where the stories of the Bible unfolded. It has made it all so much more real and tangible for me, and the blessing of that is that it has increased my faith.

Traveling to the Holy Land with wonderful friends from Saint Michael (old and new!) was definitely one of our family’s very deepest cultural and religious experiences. The things we learned, saw, and felt are beyond words. The team from SMAA planned the trip in the perfect way to help deepen our faith, encourage fellowship, and better understand the origins of Christianity. If you have the opportunity to take this trip, then by all means – GO!
