Welcome Liaison Ministry
While a Greeter Volunteer may often be the first person a parishioner, visitor, or guest encounter upon entering the doors of Saint Michael, a Welcome Liaison Volunteer is someone who is intentionally looking for and connecting with new people, people they may not know and/or have not seen at church before. Welcome Liaisons provide a valuable and strategic way to not only welcome people but also take a little more time to talk with new people and get to know more about them in a conversational manner.
The goal for Welcome Liaison Volunteers is to partner with the Engagement Ministry to intentionally look for and make connections with people who are new to Saint Michael or perhaps reconnecting with this parish after being away. Our desire is to create a kind and relational culture that will help us build a stronger sense of community inside and outside the parish walls and help people learn about, explore, and connect with the many wonderful opportunities to grow in their relationship with God and others at Saint Michael.
The reality is that we all can be (and often times are) Sunday greeters and welcome liaisons. Being a part of the Engagement Ministry Team as a Greeter and/or Welcome Liaison volunteer makes serving in this way intentional, strategic, collaborative, and fun. It is also a great way to build stronger relationships and meet new and interesting people!
