Happy Easter from Rector Chris Girata
Alleluia. Christ is risen!
As we gather to celebrate Easter Day, I send you special blessings in the name of our Risen Lord. This Easter may feel very different than Easter celebrations in the past, but the joy of the resurrection continues.Today, thousands of Saint Michaelites are scattered near and far, but we will be joining together, welcoming new friends from around the world, to celebrate Easter. Wherever you are, I encourage you to join our prayers and our singing to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection once again.
This year, the celebration of resurrection takes on new meaning. We are all more aware of our own needs and the needs of others. I hope that becoming more aware of our needs has also helped us become more grateful. Our physical separation gives us an opportunity to access our priorities and values, and with some work, begin to refocus our lives on God’s love.
Easter is a gift to each of us, an invitation to renew our commitment to one another and to our Christian discipleship. May this Easter Day be a celebration of life in all its beauty for you and for those you love. Today, I am even more grateful to travel the Way of Christ with you as part of our Saint Michael family. May the power of the resurrection surround and uplift you this day and forever more!
In thanksgiving,
The Rev. Dr. Christopher D. Girata
Rector
Easter Prayer
Gracious God, the resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as a new people
in pursuit of the Christian life.
Grant us wisdom to know what we must do,
the will to do it, and the strength to complete it.
