The Promised Land: Living for God Where Culture is Influenced

This Bible study will center on the gift of the Promised Land to Israel and the impact it had on the people of Israel and their mission. We will consider the Jewish people, Abraham and his arrival in this land, the crossing of the Jordan and the first rulers of the people called judges. Education for Ministry is a program for adult Christian Education that combines the study of scriptures, Christian history, and theology with a focus on ordinary experience in order to discern God’s presence in one’s life. Our program comes from the Episcopal Seminary at Sewanee, which has become famous for educating adults to see God acting through their lives as well as developing knowledge of scripture and theology.
