Past Effots

KERR COUNTY FLOOD RELIEF FUND: We activated the Relief Fund in July 2025  to respond to the flooding disaster in the Texas Hill Country. We sent our first check to the Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country which set up a fund for the disaster response. The funds were directed to vetted organizations that provided rescue, relief, and recovery services as well as flood assistance. It supported the efforts in Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point and Comfort. The funds went to trusted non-profit organizations, first responder agencies and local governments actively involved in response, relief, and recovery efforts for the flooding disaster.

CALIFORNIA FIRE RELIEF: We along with the world watched with great concern the fires that devastated the communities and homes of so many in Los Angeles. Therefore, we are activated our Emergency Relief Fund to send aid to those in crisis. Our initial funding went to two Episcopal church communities to aid in their rebuilding. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Altadena, a historic 100-year-old church, home to a vibrant community, was completely destroyed by the Eaton fire. Additionally, the parish rectories for two priests and many of the homes in the community of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church were lost in the Pacific Palisades fire.

HURRICANE HELENE RELIEF: Hurricane Helene, which made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region in September 2024 as a massive Category 4 hurricane, has become the deadliest mainland hurricane since Katrina in 2005. At least 230 people died across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia as Helene flooded towns, destroyed roads and bridges, and swept away homes. Saint Michael and All Angels is working with local churches and organizations to provide needed support to victim’s of this disaster. Saint Michael sent an initial gift of $10k to western North Carolina for Hurricane Helene relief.

RELIEF FOR ISRAEL AND GAZA: The conflict unfolding in Israel and Gaza is heartbreaking. In recent years, Saint Michael has deepened our relationships in the Holy Land through prayer, pilgrimages, and mission support. Through our shared ministry with the Anglican Diocese of Jerusalem and the Compass Rose Society, Saint Michael is connected to churches, schools, and hospitals across the region that work for the good of all people, especially the most vulnerable. I ask for your continued engagement through prayer and your support of our work through the Saint Michael Relief Fund and the All Angels Foundation.

RELIEF FOR LAHAINA AND MAUI, HAWAII: We have been watching with you the tragic stories of the devastation that has occurred due to the fires in Lahaina and elsewhere on the island of Maui in Hawaii. Saint Michael sent an initial contribution for aid to those affected by the fires. Please keep the people of Lahaina and Maui in your prayers as they walk through these days of immense tragedy.

EARTHQUAKE RELIEF FOR TURKEY AND SYRIA: In response to the devastation in Turkey and Syria, our Mission and Outreach Committee recommended that we use our Saint Michael Relief Fund to send aid in the rescue and recovery efforts. As we prayed for those who were hurt, those who lost loved ones, those who became homeless, and those who bravely responded, we took action by making a gift through our Relief Fund. We made an initial gift from the fund.
