DESCRIPTION:Group: Engaging the Word (Bible Series) \nRoom 203 \nLed by Dr. Tim Smith \nWhile Christians everywhere believe that the Bible is the word of God\, we can easily forget that reading the Bible is a cross-cultural experience. Complicating our understanding of the text is that when we read the Bible\, we tend to do so through our own culture\, trying to make sense of the text on our terms rather than the Bible’s. This study will help attendees come to a greater understanding of the main elements of the culture of the Bible and how those impact the text\, leading to a deeper understanding of the original meaning of a text through its cultural context.
