Women of Saint Michael
All women who are members of Saint Michael and All Angels are members of the Women of Saint Michael (WOSM). The WOSM will meet on the third Wednesday of the month (September, October, January, February and May) for lunch, a devotional and speaker. Special programs are offered for Advent and Lent. Watch for the WOSM mailings and see the Archangel for details on all the meetings. This year the Women of Saint Michael will be sponsoring the biannual Home Tour in December. The St. Michael Woman’s Exchange, a gift shop in Highland Park Village, is the outreach fund raising project of the Women of Saint Michael. These special volunteer opportunities as well as the monthly programs welcome newcomers. Please let us know your interest, expertise and availability. Come join us
Drop by the Women of Saint Michael table under the Homecoming Tent and preview our outstanding programs for 2008-2009! We host five luncheon programs, plus Advent and Lenten Morning Retreats. Saint Michael's Women's Exchange
St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange (The Exchange) is a retail gift shop in Highland Park Village (Preston Road and Mockingbird Lane). It opened in 1958 and has grown over the years due to wonderful customers and remarkable volunteers (more than 100). Our name is often confused with a resale shop, but actually it means an exchange of volunteer time in selling new goods to support and benefit the needy in our community.
The net proceeds each year from The Exchange are given to the Women of Saint Michael (WOSM) for distribution to mission and outreach projects. In 2006, The Exchange gave over $490,000 to the WOSM which is the result of more than 30,000 hours of volunteer service.
It is more than a gift shop raising funds for outreach projects, it is also a place where Christian fellowship and personal growth are shared and fostered. St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange has celebrated 46 years of gifts and giving.
Volunteer opportunities include: sales, gift wrap, buying, computer projects, and many more individual ways to use your skills. Come join us. Your volunteer time will benefit others. Visit our web site at http://www.stmichaelexchange.com

St. Mary’s Guild
St. Mary’s Guild provides opportunities for service and fellowship to women who prefer evening meetings. Meetings or outreach opportunities will be held on or about the second Tuesday night of each month. Meetings begin with wine and conversation at 6:30 p.m., followed by a catered dinner (reservations required) at 7:00 p.m., a brief business meeting, and then a special program. St. Mary’s Guild welcomes new members to join one of our four Bake Teams. Each team member provides home-baked goodies and staffs the “Yield To Temptation” table one Sunday morning a month from September through May. All proceeds benefit the Shelter Ministries of Dallas (Austin Street Shelter and Genesis Shelter). Ages of St. Mary’s Guild members range from twenties to mid-eighties and represent a wide cross-section of women at Saint Michael. It is a fun group and a great place to “get involved,” especially if volunteer time available is limited. You are welcome at any meeting. For more information, contact Dana Cottingame at stmarysguild@yahoo.com.
