“From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required.” Luke 12:48 Each one of us has many talents. We use these in every part of our lives: with our families, at school and for fun. God gives us these gifts and talents to use not for our glory but for the glory of God. They are one way that we are witnesses to God’s activity. And we can use them to partner with God in all that we do. Many of you already give of your time and talent to Saint Michael and All Angels. Think about the time you serve as an acolyte or lay reader, on a Mission Trip, musical performances, tutoring at Jubilee or even at Live Wire or EYC. These are places where we share all God has given us with those we love and also those we do not even know. As we move into the stewardship season this fall at Saint Michael and All Angels, we ask you each to participate in our Youth Water Bottle Project. Every member of our parish from sixth grade through twelfth grade will receive an aluminum RENEW! Bottle at church. You can get them at Sunday School, EYC, Live Wire or whenever you have time to drop by the Youth Ministry office. We urge you to actively engage in stewardship with this bottle. Be stewards of the environment by conserving plastic water bottle consumption, and be stewards of your own, or your parents’ money, by refilling the RENEW! Bottle instead of buying one more from a convenience store or the school cafeteria. In this way, you can have the experience of giving back to God in gratitude for the blessings He has bestowed on you. In this way, you can celebrate OUR COMMON PURPOSE by working together with the rest of the church as we all engage in stewardship to build some of God’s kingdom here on earth. The Stewardship Committee would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Geoff Newton, Mr. and Mrs. Jon O’Sullivan, and Mr. and Mrs. J. Puckett for generously underwriting the cost of the RENEW! water bottles.
