Children

“There are only three ways to teach a child:  the first by example, the second is by example,
and the third is by example.” -- Albert Schweitzer

At Saint Michael and All Angels, we want to help the children of our parish learn the meaning and the value of the words “it is in giving that you shall receive.”  This fall, we hope to encourage parents and godparents to spend time with their children explaining how stewardship rewards the giver.  Taking time to discuss stewardship with our children is crucial to their development into Christian men and women.  Helping children build standards of giving in their own lives will illustrate to them the priceless value of sacrificing and doing for others. And we ask that parents and godparents show by example.  Nativity_Pageant_2007_052.jpg

As we move into stewardship season this fall at Saint Michael and All Angels, each child (3 years to 5th grade) will receive a stewardship mite box in Sunday School.  As he or she fills their box with loose change, we urge you to fill out your pledge card in parallel.  Let your child know that you are making a family stewardship pledge.  Together, bring the family pledge card and the children’s mite boxes to church on Commitment Sunday, November 2, 2008 and share the experience of giving back to God in gratitude for the blessings He has bestowed on us

Celebrate OUR COMMON PURPOSE with the children of our parish, as we all work together build some of God’s kingdom here on earth.

The Stewardship Committee would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Todd Hart for generously underwriting the cost of the mite boxes.
