Pastoral Care
"To build the Kingdom of God by responding in love to those in need.
I give you a new commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
John 13:34
Christ’s commission to the disciples – to preach, teach, heal and proclaim the Kingdom – is also our commission. All Christians are called to extend the hope of healing and the importance of mutual support in community. Through the Pastoral Care Ministries of Saint Michael and All Angels, the sick and lonely are visited, meals are cooked and delivered to those who need them, neighbors reach out to neighbors, cards are sent to commemorate passages in life or just to let someone know they are thought of, telephone calls are made to keep in touch, prayer shawls are knitted, blessed, and delivered, people are prayed for, those who are experiencing grief are cared for, communion is delivered to those who are home or hospital bound, and support groups meet to reach out to those in need. These are just some of the ways we serve in the name of Christ.

Once a quarter, the Pastoral Care Leaders meet for a brown bag lunch in the Coke Activities Room. It is at these quarterly gatherings that we, in community, share information regarding results of activities past, plans for future activities of each of the twenty-two Pastoral Care ministries, exchange ideas, make requests for needs and pray for guidance . This quarter, the meeting will be held on Thursday, May 13, from 12 to 1 p.m.
