Ministry Opportunities (Congregational Care)
Good Shepherd Ministry
The GSM is a ministry of presence, communication, and caring. Each of us is asked to be a channel of Christ’s love by responding to the needs of others and by creating a sense of community. Thus, the parish has been geographically divided into neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has a Good Shepherd who wants to respond to the needs of parishioners in that area — sharing not only in the good times but also in times of need by caring for parishioners when they are ill and giving help and hope when the unexpected happens. The area number for your Good Shepherd neighborhood is listed for each parishioner in the parish directory following the zip code, e.g.
Extended Care Cooks
Extended Care Cooks is a committee that provides a home-cooked meal each Thursday to parishioners who are in a crisis situation. Volunteers serve approximately twice a year on a rotating schedule.
The Funeral Reception Guild
Lovingly puts together funeral receptions. The Guild delivers baked-goods to the church, and the Reception Committee decorates tables so that family members can receive friends and family in the parlor after the service.
